Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Walthom Forest

During this unprecedented time I want to reassure residents and businesses that we are working hard to ensure we can continue to deliver vital services on which our vulnerable residents rely.

Since launching our Community Help Network on Monday I have been blown away by the  community spirit of our borough. We've had over 1,300 people sign up as volunteers with little over a week to prepare, our distribution centres are now up and running, and food packages are being delivered. I am delighted to say that with the help of our community volunteers and ZED Waltham Forest we delivered 77 food packages to over-70s yesterday - and that's just the start!

If you know of someone going above and beyond for their neighbours, let us know by emailing us, or tagging us on social media with #AllTogetherNowWF.

Read on for more information about how we can support you and how you can get involved in supporting each other.

Stay at Home and Save Lives

Stay At Home guidanceStay At Home guidance

Police and Council officers are out ensuring that businesses and residents are complying with the new rules that will save lives and slow the spread of the virus.

Cllr Clyde Loakes, Deputy Leader has a simple message -  Please do the right thing and stay in!

The message from the Government is clear, people need to stay home to save lives and protect the NHS so we can cope with the spread of the coronavirus.

Council Services Update

The Junction

Following Government instructions some Council services are being reduced to ensure the safety of both residents and staff.

A number of services have been affected but we are working hard to ensure that vital services continue.

We have also launched a Crowdfunder to give residents who are able to donate a different opportunity to show their support. If you would like to donate you can do so here
