Complaints from residents about inconsiderate parking is being tackled by a two phase introduction of enforcement.
By March 2020 a Traffic Management Order will be in place meaning anyone parking on yellow lines or cross-hatch markings will be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for illegal parking.
This is being introduced as a safety measure as there have been times when vehicles have been marked on hatch markings aimed at keeping access to flats free for emergency vehicles to use.
Avenue Road estate is one of the first Council estates where these steps are being taken.
The second phase will be a consultation where residents can say whether they think permit parking should be introduced for the estate.
If the parking scheme goes ahead residents will be able to buy a CPZ Permit allowing them to park in designated bays.

Parts to replace the pumps proved hard to source due to the age of the building but repairs are now complete..
Bottled water was distributed to residents who were without mains water.
