We planted 468 new trees, including semi-mature ones, as part of the £1.2 million investment in Cheney Row Park.

This is the largest number of trees ever planted in a park in Waltham Forest at one time and will play a significant part in improving air quality and addressing the Climate Emergency.

It's YOUR park so please use it and help look after it

Cheney Row Park was designed in partnership with local residents and Ward Councillors. The suggestions we received have been included in the finished park whenever that was possible and the feedback we’ve been getting from residents suggests that we’ve got it right.

We want the park and its facilities to be widely used by community groups, local schools, families and individual residents.

We do need your help to make sure these facilities stay in good condition for future generations to enjoy. We know that some trail bikes have already been seen in the park and action is being taken to catch those responsible.

If you see something happening that is out of the ordinary please dial 101 so the police can check it out or if it is an emergency dial 999. Our CCTV will also be helpful in identifying anyone misusing the park.

If you live near the park or use it regularly please let us know if you see anything that needs attention such as any damage or litter that needs clearing.

Please remember that barbecues can’t be held in the park.

Finally, if you would like to hold a large event in the park please complete the booking application form which can be found on our website.

Thank you for your help.

Throughout the winter, the Friends of Cheney Row Park (FoCRP) will be running regular litter picking events to keep the park looking pretty.

They will take place from 11am to 12.30pm on the second Sunday of each month, with the next one taking place on Sunday 10 November 2019.

The Friends of Cheney Row Park is committed to working together to create a place for nature and a space for people, and welcomes everyone living locally who wishes to get involved.

If you have an idea for an event in the park, join us and we can work together to make it a reality.

London Youth Games Bronze BMX medal winners Nina 290619

Following the success of these training sessions Waltham Forest for the first time entered a BMX team in the London Youth Games.

Success came our way when 10 year old Nina won the borough's first BMX medal in the game with a Bronze in her category. The young team from Waltham Forest, in what was its first competition, also secured various other first, second and third positions in their heats

COG will be aiming to enter a Waltham Forest BMX team in the London Youth Games 2020 to build on this success.

On Fridays 9.30 -10.30am there are BMXercise sessions for women who want to try or to build up their endurance and strength through BMX.

The first session is free and then the cost is £3 per session. It's a great way to meet like-minded women, as well as getting fit, and having fun in a friendly environment!
