Treialu ffyrdd newydd o weithio er mwyn hyrwyddo gwelliant

Annwyl gydweithiwr,

Yr haf diwethaf, gwnaethom nodi sut roeddem yn archwilio dull newydd o gefnogi lleoliadau gofal plant a chwarae i wella, a fydd yn mynd law yn llaw â'n methodoleg arolygu bresennol.

Ers hynny, rydym wedi bod yn gweithio'n agos gydag ystod o randdeiliaid i ddatblygu math newydd o gyfarfod gyda darparwyr rhwng eu harolygiadau, a elwir yn Gyfarfodydd Gwella.

Nod y cyfarfodydd hyn yw rhoi'r cyfle i ddarparwyr ein hysbysu o unrhyw welliannau y maent wedi'u gwneud ers yr arolygiad diwethaf, gan gynnwys sut maent wedi ymateb i achos o ddiffyg cydymffurfio neu i argymhellion; unrhyw welliannau eraill y maent wedi'u nodi fel rhan o'u hunanwerthusiad; a'r hyn y maent wedi'i wneud i roi'r gwelliannau hyn ar waith.

Hoffem hefyd glywed am unrhyw welliannau wedi'u cynllunio ar gyfer y dyfodol, a byddwn yn cyfeirio darparwyr at ffynonellau eraill i gael cyngor a chymorth a fydd, o bosibl, o help iddynt.

Y camau nesaf

Rydym wedi ysgrifennu at yr holl leoliadau gofal plant a chwarae, gan eu gwahodd i ddatgan eu diddordeb mewn ymuno â'r cynllun peilot newydd cyffrous hwn a fydd yn cynnwys tua 60 o leoliadau.

Bydd grŵp o ddarparwyr o amrywiaeth o wahanol fathau o leoliadau ledled Cymru yn cael ei greu i gymryd rhan mewn Cyfarfod Gwella ac i gyfrannu at werthusiad o'r broses newydd hon.

Er mwyn cael eich ystyried ar gyfer y cynllun peilot, dylai darparwyr gwblhau'r arolwg byr a anfonwyd atynt ar e-bost erbyn 17 Chwefror 2023.

Byddwn yn parhau i roi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi wrth i'r prosiect ddatblygu.

Piloting new ways of working for promoting improvement

Dear colleague,

Last summer we set out how we were exploring a new approach to supporting childcare and play settings to improve, which will accompany our existing inspection methodology.

Since then, we have been working closely with a range of stakeholders to develop a new type of meeting with providers between their inspections, called Improvement Meetings.

The aim of these meetings is to allow providers the opportunity to let us know about any improvements they have made since the last inspection, including how they have responded to any non-compliance or recommendations; any other improvements they have identified as part of their own self-evaluation; and what they have done to implement these improvements.

We would also like to hear about any planned future improvements and will signpost providers to other sources of advice and support which may be of assistance to them.

Next steps

We have written to all childcare and play settings, inviting them to express an interest in joining this exciting new pilot which will involve around 60 settings.

A group of providers from a range of different types of settings across Wales will be formed to participate in an Improvement Meeting and contribute to the evaluation of this new process.

To be considered for the pilot, providers should complete the short survey sent to them via email by 17 February 2023.

We will continue to keep you updated as the project develops.
