Diweddariad COVID-19 (coronafeirws) – 16 Mawrth 2020

Annwyl gydweithiwr,

Yn dilyn ein llythyr dyddiedig 10 Mawrth, rydym yn ysgrifennu atoch i roi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi am y ffordd y mae Arolygiaeth Gofal Cymru (AGC) yn ymateb i'r achosion o COVID-19.

O ganlyniad i'r heriau sylweddol sy'n newid yn gyflym y mae'r sector gofal plant a gofal cymdeithasol yn eu hwynebu yn sgil Coronafeirws (COVID-19), rydym wedi penderfynu gohirio pob arolygiad arferol o 5pm heddiw (16 Mawrth). Byddwn yn parhau i arolygu unrhyw wasanaeth lle mae gennym bryderon sylweddol am ddiogelwch a llesiant pobl. Byddwn hefyd yn parhau i ystyried yr angen i gynnal arolygiadau mewn perthynas â phryderon a godir â ni.

Rydym wedi dod i'r penderfyniad hwn er mwyn sicrhau y gall awdurdodau lleol a darparwyr ganolbwyntio ar gynnal iechyd a diogelwch y bobl sy'n defnyddio gwasanaethau, a'u staff, yn yr amgylchiadau eithriadol hyn.

Ein blaenoriaeth allweddol yw parhau i roi sicrwydd i'r cyhoedd a Gweinidogion am ddiogelwch gwasanaethau. Bydd ein penderfyniadau'n seiliedig ar dair prif egwyddor i sicrhau bod gwasanaethau'n parhau i fod yn ddiogel:

  • Byddwn yn canolbwyntio ein gweithgarwch lle mae ei angen fwyaf er mwyn sicrhau bod pobl yn cael gofal diogel – mae hyn yn golygu canolbwyntio ar y meysydd hynny lle rydym o'r farn bod y risg i ansawdd y gofal ar ei huchaf, a lle y gallwn wneud y gwahaniaeth mwyaf.
  • Byddwn yn cefnogi darparwyr drwy ystyried sut y gallwn weithredu'n hyblyg ac yn gymesur.
  • Byddwn yn cydymffurfio â'n dyletswydd i ofalu am ein cydweithwyr yn AGC.

Rydym yn ystyried yn ofalus y ffordd orau y gallwn gefnogi'r sector gofal plant a gofal cymdeithasol i gyflawni'r gwaith hollbwysig y mae'n ei wneud i ofalu am bobl.

Byddwn yn rhannu diweddariadau â chi drwy ein sianeli cyfathrebu rheolaidd, fel bwletinau'r darparwyr, ein sianeli Twitter a Facebook, a'n gwefan. Gellir gweld y wybodaeth swyddogol gyffredinol ddiweddaraf gan Lywodraeth Cymru ac Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru yma:

Rydym yn disgwyl i bob darparwr ddilyn cyngor ac arweiniad Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru.

Byddwn yn parhau i adolygu'r sefyllfa ac yn rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi wrth i bethau ddatblygu.

Yn gwyir

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update (16 March 2020)

Dear colleague,

Following on from our letter dated 10 March, we are writing to share an update on how Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) is responding to the outbreak of COVID-19.

As a result of the fast changing and significant challenges coronavirus (COVID-19) poses for the childcare and social care sector, we have decided to pause all routine inspections from 5pm today (16 March). We will continue to inspect any service where we have significant concerns about the safety and well-being of people. We will also continue to consider the need for inspection in relation to concerns raised with us.

We have made this decision to ensure local authorities and providers can concentrate on maintaining the health and safety of the people using services and their staff in these exceptional circumstances.

Our key priority is to continue to provide assurance to the public and Ministers regarding the safety of services. Our decisions will be guided by three key principles focusing on making sure services continue to be safe:

  • We will be focusing our activity where it is needed most to ensure people receive safe care – this means concentrating on those areas where we see that the risk to the quality of care is the highest and where we can make the biggest difference.
  • We will support providers by looking at how we can act flexibly and proportionately.
  • We will honour our duty of care to our colleagues in CIW.

We are considering carefully how best we can support the childcare and social care sector in the critical work they do caring for people.

We will share updates with you through our regular communication channels, such as the provider bulletins, our Twitter and Facebook channels, and our website. The latest general official information coming from Welsh Government and Public Health Wales can be found here:

We expect all providers to be following Public Health Wales' advice and guidance.

We will continue to review the changing situation and will keep you updated as the situation develops.

Yours sincerely
