Datblygwyd Llywodreaeth Cymru  pecyn 'Barod i ddysgu' ar gyfer rhieni / gofalwyr plant sy’n dechrau ysgol gyda syniadau ac awgrymiadau o bethau y gellir ei wneud yn y cartref i gefnogi trosiad i'r ysgol gynradd.

Yn y pecyn mae taflen i rieni cyn ysgol fel cyflwyniad i'r cysyniad o ' Barod i ddysgu' a siart gweithgaredd gyda sticeri gwobrwyo i blant i weithio drwy'r gyda'u rhieni/gofalwyr yn y cyfnod sy’n arwain at ddechrau yn yr ysgol.

Datblygwyd animeiddiad  fideo byr Barod i ddysgu i siarad rhieni a gofalwyr trwy'r hyn y gallant ei wneud gartref gyda'u plentyn i'w cael yn barod ar gyfer ysgol.

Barod i Ddysgu ydy ymgyrch diweddaraf Mae Addysg yn Dechrau yn y Cartref, cynllun Llywodraeth Cymru i wneud y cartref yn amgylchedd dysgu hwyl i blant, fel eu bod yn cael y blaen mewn bywyd.

  • Adult providers: you will need to re-register with us next yearThe Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act will replace the Care Standards Act.
  • Have your say about our proposed changes to how you can apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We are proposing changes to how you can apply for a DBS check in relation to CSSIW applications or renewals. Responsible Individuals and individual providers: you need to be aware that a current DBS will be required as part of the re-registration process under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act next year. You will need to provide a DBS number as part of the application process. If at the time of application you are not on the DBS Update Service, you will need to get a new DBS. The application cannot be submitted until the DBS has been obtained. Therefore if you do not have a current DBS we recommend you get one and register for the Update Service. If you are due to renew your DBS, we recommend you do so, and sign up for the Update Service.
  • Joint all-Wales review on adult community mental health services - Ourselves and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales are undertaking a joint all-Wales review.

Helping children be ‘ready to learn’ when they start school

ready to learn

A ‘ready to learn’ pack has been developed by Welsh Government for parents and carers of children starting school with hints and tips of things that can be done at home to support the transition to primary school. 

This includes a leaflet for pre-school parents and an activity chart  with reward stickers for children to work through with their parents or carers in the lead-up to starting school.
A short Ready to learn video animation has been developed to talk parents and carers through what they can do at home with their child to get them ready for school.

Ready To Learn is latest part of Education Begins At Home, Welsh Government’s campaign to make the home a fun learning environment for children.
