Brexit: Now is the time to act

Attached is a joint letter from Ken Skates, Minister for Economy and Transport and Lesley Griffiths, Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs.

In brief they strongly urge you to:

engage with your business networks, trade bodies and associations. Include your suppliers and those you supply in these conversations. Changes in your wider supply chain or sector are likely to impact on you

- take note of required new certifications (e.g. EORI Number, Export Health Certificates). Find Brexit guidance for your business and get your Partnership pack: preparing for changes at the UK border after a no deal EU exit on the GOV.UK website

- ensure that if you employ EU citizens, that they have applied to remain in the UK through the EU Settlement Scheme

- ensure if you transfer personal data into the UK, that you continue to comply with GDPR regulations. Take a look at Leaving the EU – six steps to take

- check the regulatory requirements for UK and EU markets for labelling, approvals and testing. See guidance on Regulations and standards after Brexit

- visit the Business Wales Brexit Portal or contact Business Wales which provides information, advice and support by calling the Business Wales helpline on 03000 6 03000

- visit the Preparing Wales website which provides the most up-to-date guidance on process changes for business across a wide range of industries, including in farming, fishing, and in food production and exports
