We are looking for schools to take part in the upcoming adaptive trials for the new procedural numeracy online personalised assessments, which will be introduced in schools next academic year. If your school would like to volunteer please email trials@nationaltests.cymru
Once again in 2018 there will be a Supported Marking Service for the Year 7 to 9 Numerical Reasoning Tests.
Guidance regarding valid assessment outcomes for the end of the Foundation Phase has been updated to reflect changes implemented from 2017/18 as set out in the Foundation Phase Framework.
From 2017/18, learners at the end of Foundation Phase will be assessed against the revised outcome statements for Language, Literacy and Communication Skills and Mathematical Development. These include the three additional statements (Foundation Phase Outcome Bronze, Foundation Phase Outcome Silver and Foundation Phase Outcome Gold).
A new online community learning zone has also been established to facilitate the sharing of information, resources and research between practitioners. The zone will also host 20 new case studies including three short films which showcase effective practice in five key areas of practice: child development, environment experiences, leadership, pedagogy and Welsh language. Future updates will be published in pre11 DYSG.
What will the Childcare Offer be?
We intend to provide 30 hours a week of Government funded early education and childcare for eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year olds in Wales, for up to 48 weeks of the year.
Cardiff Metropolitan University has been commissioned by the Welsh Government to undertake research into the deployment of classroom based Learning Support Workers (LSWs) in primary schools in Wales.
