Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill – General Principles agreed.
The National Assembly for Wales have this week debated and agreed the general principles of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill. This significant milestone brings the Stage 1 scrutiny process to a close and means the Bill now moves on to Stage 2 of the legislative process. The National Academy for Educational Leadership is being established to enable high-quality leadership development across the system. Schools as Learning Organisations – Launch of a Nation-wide Study
This week, Welsh Government has launched a nationwide Study – ‘Schools as Learning Organisations - Wales’ in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to develop a professional learning culture within and across our schools and support the transition to the new curriculum. If your school has been invited to complete the short survey, we would welcome your engagement and open and honest feedback. The survey is completely confidential.

Welsh Baccalaureate teachers and coordinators are invited to attend a free 1 day skills development event which focuses on critical skills, problem solving and the research cycle. The event programme has been developed by Cardiff University researchers in partnership with consortia leads. Practitioners will have the opportunity to attend 4 workshops.
Launched in May with events in south and north Wales, the online hub hosts range of useful materials for teachers who work with children and young people who are looked after. We are looking for more examples of best practice from your school to share.

Sustaining the momentum in global learning
The final Global Learning Programme-Wales conference, open and free to all schools in Wales, takes place on June 22 at the Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff. Join us for pupil presentations, interactive workshops led by experienced teachers and trainers, and updates on the new curriculum from Welsh Government and the new Inspection Framework from Estyn.
