Following feedback from
parents/ carers, one recurring theme seems to be a fear of maths and supporting
their child at home. So, Welsh
Government have engaged with numeracy experts in Wales to produce a selection
of maths resources aimed at 3 to 16 year olds to encourage parents/carers to
engage with their children and support them with their maths homework.

Progress for Success is a work based training
programme which will fund practitioners aged 25 or above, working in the childcare,
early years (including Foundation Phase)
and play sector in Wales to achieve nationally recognised qualifications
at levels 2 and 3

A new resource has been added to Theme 4 in the FaCE toolkit.
Family learning programmes (FLPs) can be a strong tool to encourage and support
family engagement in a child’s learning. Use the resource to reflect on your
practice.

Developed by Pioneer Schools, this is the first
element of the new Curriculum for Wales to be delivered. The Framework and supporting materials are
available on Learning
Wales.

curriculum developments to life in a very accessible way. Take a look and share with

partnership with Welsh Government, SWGfL are holding four regional events for
educational practitioners and local authorities on updates to the 360 degree
safe Cymru tool.
Mini Maths for Youngsters #minipuzzle
Do you use
Twitter? Look out for mini maths puzzles for 6–8 year olds every Friday
morning, created by Gareth Ffowc Roberts.
The first
#minipuzzle will be launched on Twitter by @GarethFfowc on Friday, 9 September and each
Friday thereafter.
The Pori Drwy Stori programme is delivered free to all
primary schools in Wales to support parental engagement in literacy and
