Copies of the
National Reading and Numeracy Tests in
Wales: Information for Parents and Carers booklet are being sent to all
primary schools for distribution to all parents/carers whose children are in
Year 2. For parents of all other year
groups, the updated guide is in electronic copy version only and is now
available online via the link above. Please share on your
school websites, newsletters and if you have one, your Facebook and Twitter
channels.

The handbook includes summaries of each of the test
administration manuals and guidance on access and disapplication arrangements.
Headteachers, test administrators and teachers should familiarise themselves
with this document.

Hwb+ transition projects
As Year 6 pupils embark on their final term in school you may wish to
incorporate transition projects into your teaching. Why not use Hwb+ to create
a class site for a year 6 to 7 transition project? Visit Hwb for guidance on how to create a collaborative Hwb+
site.

support parental engagement in literacy and numeracy for all reception
children. My Book is a book-making resource for each child and arrived in all
primary schools last January. The Unicorn’s Challenge magazine will arrive in
schools in June. Teachers can find
inspiration and ideas in our online toolkits and case studies.
This summer all schools in Wales receive My Book, a fantastic book-making
resource for each child in Reception. My Book is part of the Pori Drwy Stori
programme to support literacy and numeracy in the home. Parents and carers can look forward to their
children becoming authors and sharing their very own books!
