their modern foreign languages (MFL) lessons by launching a new learning
resource pack linked to this year’s Euros.

Information for parents on the 2016 tests will be available online after
the Easter break for schools to download, embed and share from their websites.
Recent research shows that many parents are not aware of the parents’ guide and sharing this information with
parents strengthens understanding and reduces concern. Paper copies of the parents’
guide will also be arriving in primary
schools after the Easter break for issuing to parents of Year 2 learners.

The Minister has provided an update following consultation on the draft Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill. A summary of responses will be published following the Assembly Elections. The responses are already being used to inform work to refine the Bill and further develop the ALN Code, implementation plan and wider comprehensive package of reforms.

transform the future of Initial Teacher Education and Training in Wales have
been set out by the Welsh Education Minister Huw Lewis.

National
Foundation for Educational Research (NfER) have produced an impact evaluation
on Tranche 2 of the Lead and Emerging Practitioner School Project. The
evaluation found that the Pathfinder model of organising and facilitating
national school-to-school improvement had been effective in supporting and
accelerating improvement in both the Lead and Emerging schools. Case studies
on 7 partnerships will follow soon.

summarises the existing guidelines from the four UK Chief Medical Officers’ to

infographic promotes the benefits of physical activity to support the physical
activity guidelines in schools.
