Over the weekend you will doubtless have seen national news regarding a new strain of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The concern is that this new variant seems to spread far more quickly than others we have seen in the UK. At the moment, cases of this new strain have mostly been seen within London and the South East, but there is clearly the potential for this to spread to other areas, including our own. Please be alert to any increase in cases within your workplace, particularly if the increase appears to spread rapidly. If you suspect this may be happening, please email the Health Protection Hub as soon as possible on HealthProtectionHub@telford.gov.uk , then follow-up with a notification of the case(s) details using the online form at www.telford.gov.uk/testandtrace
Telford’s Health Protection Hub will be open every day during the Christmas and New Year period (emergency cover only on Christmas Day and Boxing Day), so please do contact them if you are unsure or have concerns about cases in your workplace.
