Here are lots of exciting and interesting activities for you to try with your family or at your school, and to share with your friends.  We will be sending out the Healthy Lives newsletter three times a week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There's something for everyone.

West Ham

West Ham Foundation virtual sports day

This Friday 26 June West Ham will be hosting their first Virtual 'Claret and Blue Sports Day' - part of Youth Sport at Home week. 

There will be 20 pre-recorded activities available via their YouTube Channel, helping to make the day as accessible as possible. All of these comply with current government guidelines and use basic household equipment to get children active while in their own home or in school.

Urban nature challenge

Groundwork London Urban Nature Challenge

Groundwork.org.uk have created four FREE Key Stage 3 curriculum-linked PSHE, geography and biology lessons aimed at building pupil resilience, wellbeing and connection to nature.

No teacher prep is needed and lessons can be split into daily tasks or completed in one go.

There is a worksheet and video for each lesson:

  1. Urban Nature - map your local neighbourhood
  2. Peace and Quiet - wellbeing and mindfulness
  3. Natural Treasures - find and ID local flora and fauna
  4. Grow Your Own - food growing at home

PE home learning

PE home learning from Youth Sport Trust

The PE home learning resources from the Youth Sport Trust offer a range of PE activities that can be done individually, in pairs or in small groups. This includes athletics, dance, games, gymnastics, health related exercises, inclusion (boccia), locomotion, and outdoor and adventure.

Activities have a focus on the development of physical proficiency, personal skills and supporting social, emotional and mental wellbeing.

Join Andy in Episode One, where he goes on an adventure to find the biggest fish in the ocean and along the way finds an octopus, white tipped shark and a whale shark.

Blue Peter

Win a Blue Peter Sports Badge (ages 6-15 years)

Get your very own 2020 Sports Badge with Blue Peter. To enter you will need to try a new way of getting active. This could be a new exercise class at home or a new style of dance. The only rule is: You must be trying something new and it must be physically active.

Once completed, download a form from the website below, attach a drawing or photo of yourself completing the activity and then email or post this to Blue Peter.
