An alternative public right of way has opened for walkers which now removes the need to walk through the grounds of Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllw.
The new path, which replaces the previous route, has been diverted away from the school entrance further along Folly Road in Trevethin, and now runs north along the eastern boundary of the new YGG primary school, before joining a fenced off path at the top of the school site.
The change has been brought about to address safeguarding concerns of pupils at the school and to protect the interests of members of public using the route.
Walkers will be pleased to learn that the new path has less of a gradient and new planting has also been put in place.
Mae hawl dramwy amgen i’r cyhoedd wedi agor i gerddwyr sy’n golygu nad oes angen nawr cerdded drwy diroedd Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw.
Mae’r llwybr newydd, sy’n disodli’r hen lwybr, wedi ei wyro i ffwrdd oddi wrth fynedfa’r ysgol ymhellach ymlaen ar Folly Road yn Nhrefddyn, ac mae nawr yn rhedeg i’r gogledd ar hyd ffin ddwyreiniol ysgol gynradd newydd YGG, cyn ymuno gyda llwybr wedi’i ffensio ar dop safle’r ysgol.
Mae’r newid wedi digwydd oherwydd pryderon amddiffyn disgyblion yn yr ysgol ac i warchod buddiannau aelodau’r cyhoedd sy’n defnyddio’r llwybr.
Bydd cerddwyr yn falch o glywed bod y llwybr newydd yn llai serth a bod gwaith plannu newydd hefyd wedi ei wneud.
