'Talk Tuesday' - a small conversation can make a huge difference | 'Dydd Mawrth Sgwrsio' - Gall sgwrs fach wneud byd o wahaniaeth

On the back of the successful #TimeToTalk social media campaign which took place on Thursday 4th February, Torfaen Council’s Skills and Employability Team is launching a new ‘Talk Tuesday’ campaign, which looks to encourage local people to get in touch and talk about matters that’s affecting their ambitions to succeed in life.

Talking is a great way to ease stress and reduce anxiety, and connecting with others is one of the proven ways to increase wellbeing.

Starting on Tuesday 16th February, specialist skills and employment officers will be available online and over the phone to discuss your circumstances and offer guidance and further information as to what your next steps could look like.

Each Tuesday will offer up a new theme, with the first one on the 16th February focusing on skills. In the following weeks, Talk Tuesday will focus on issues and opportunities around discussing specific health and wellbeing topics such as gentle exercise, nutrition, sleep patterns, mindfulness to name a few.

To get involved, visit the Torfaen Skills and Employability social media page - https://www.facebook.com/workTorfaen each Tuesday to find out about the

support and opportunities available to you to find employment, progress your career or to help you overcome barriers that's restricting you to move forward with your life.

To support this campaign, we've also made it as easy as possible for you to make contact by phone, by introducing a new text to talk service. So If you don’t know what to say, or how to start, you can text the word ‘TALK’ to 07812 477565 and a member of the team will call you back.

You can also get in touch by calling 01633 647743 or by emailing employability@torfaen.gov.uk

Executive Member for Economy, Skills & Regeneration, Councillor Joanne Gauden, said:

Having a conversation about your work or skills is an important step to making positive changes.

Exploring what support is available and what help is out there is a first step to taking control of your health and work situation.

Let's make a promise to keep in touch, and reach out more often. A little text or a quick chat can make a huge difference’.

Ar ôl llwyddiant ymgyrch lwyddiannus cyfryngau cymdeithasol #AmseriSiarad a ddigwyddodd ar ddydd Iau 4ydd Chwefror, mae Tîm Sgiliau a Chyflogadwyedd Cyngor Torfaen am lansio ymgyrch newydd ‘Dydd Mawrth Sgwrsio’ i annog pobl leol i gysylltu â thrafod materion sy’n effeithio ar eu huchelgais i lwyddo mewn bywyd.

Mae siarad yn ffordd dda o leddfu straen a lleihau pryder, ac mae cysylltu ag eraill yn un o’r ffyrdd i wella lles.

Gan ddechrau ddydd Mawrth 16eg Chwefror, bydd swyddogion sgiliau a chyflogaeth arbenigol ar gael ar-lein neu dros y ffôn i drafod eich amgylchiadau a chynnig cyfarwyddyd a gwybodaeth bellach am beth allai fod eich camau nesaf.

Bydd thema wahanol pob dydd Mawrth, gyda’r cyntaf ar 16eg Chwefror yn canolbwyntio ar sgiliau.  Yn yr wythnosau wedyn, bydd Dydd Mawrth Sgwrsio’n canolbwyntio ar faterion a chyfleoedd o gylch trafod pynciau iechyd a lles penodol fel ymarfer corff ysgafn, maeth, patrymau cysgu ac ymwybyddiaeth ofalgar a mwy.

I gymryd rhan, ewch i dudalen cyfryngau cymdeithasol  Sgiliau a Chyflogadwyedd Torfaen - https://www.facebook.com/workTorfaen pob dydd Mawrth i ddysgu am y gefnogaeth a’r cyfleoedd sydd ar gael i chi ganfod gwaith, symud ymlaen yn eich gyrfa neu eich helpu i oresgyn rhwystrau sy’n eich atal rhag symud ymlaen mewn bywyd.

I gefnogi’r ymgyrch yma, rydym wedi ei gwneud mor hawdd â phosibl i chi gysylltu dros y ffôn, trwy gyflwyno gwasanaeth newydd testun i siarad.  Felly os nad ydych chi’n gwybod beth i’w ddweud, neu sut i ddechrau, gallwch ddanfon neges destun gyda’r gair ‘TALK’ at 07812 477565 a bydd aelod o’r tîm yn eich ffonio.

Gallwch gysylltu hefyd trwy ffonio 01633 647743 neu ddanfon e-bost at employability@torfaen.gov.uk
