Face coverings in education and childcare settings
It is vital that young people, parents and the workforce feel confident that all measures are being taken to ensure the school environment is as a safe as possible.
New guidance states that face coverings should be worn:
- in all areas outside the classroom by staff and learners in secondary schools and colleges
- on dedicated school and college transport for learners in year 7 and up
- by visitors to all schools and colleges, , including parents and carers picking up and collecting children
It’s important that everyone sticks to these guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep Wales learning.

Rules on extended households
We're a sociable nation who love inviting people 'round for a cuppa and it's been hard for us all to limit who we can spend time with in our homes.
But we behave differently at home than in regulated settings - we're more relaxed and don't keep our distance. We know it's a higher risk environment, that's why we must only invite our extended household over.
The key rules on who belongs to an extended household are that:
- no person can be part of more than one extended household, with the exception of people who live in two homes (for example children whose parents have separated and have joint custody)
- all individuals in one home must belong to the same extended household (but see what is said in the section later in this guidance about different types of living arrangements such as HMOs)
- all of the adult members of each household must agree to join the same extended household
- once you have agreed and joined an extended household, no household can leave the extended household to form a new one
See further guidance on visiting people in private homes here
Rheolau ar aelwydydd estynedig
Rydym yn genedl gymdeithasgar, wrth ein boddau yn gwahodd pobl draw am baned, ac mae wedi bod yn anodd i ni i gyd gyfyngu pwy rydym yn treulio amser gyda nhw yn ein cartref.
Ond rydym yn ymddwyn yn wahanol yn y cartref o gymharu gyda lleoliadau sy’n cael eu rheoleiddio – rydym yn ymlacio mwy ac nid ydym yn cadw pellter. Rydym yn gwybod ei bod yn amgylchedd perygl uwch, a dyna pam y dylem ond wahodd ein haelwyd estynedig draw.
Y rheolau allweddol ynglŷn â phwy sy’n perthyn i aelwyd estynedig yw:
- ni all unrhyw berson fod yn rhan o fwy nag un aelwyd estynedig, ac eithrio pobl sy’n byw mewn dau gartref (er enghraifft plant y mae eu rhieni wedi gwahanu ac maent yn rhannu gofal)
- rhaid i holl unigolion mewn un cartref berthyn i’r un aelwyd estynedig (ond gweler y darn yn yr adran yn ddiweddarach yn y canllaw hwn am drefniadau byw gwahanol megis tai aml-ddeiliadaeth)
- rhaid i’r holl oedolion ar bob aelwyd gytuno ymuno â’r un aelwyd estynedig
- unwaith y byddwch wedi cytuno gyda ac wedi ymuno ag aelwyd estynedig, ni chaiff unrhyw aelwyd adael yr aelwyd estynedig i ffurfio un newydd

 Vaccination Saves Lives
Vaccination currently prevents around 2-3 million deaths every year from diseases like diptheria, tatanus, whooping cough, flu and measles.
If enough people are vaccinated, it is possible to reduce or get rid of some diseases.
But if people stop having vaccines, infectious diseases can spread again very quickly.
The impact of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines would offer individual protection as well as greater protection for our loved ones and communities. In time it could mean that restrictions are eased and we can move further towards a return to more normal day-to-day life.
Mae brechiadau yn achub bywydau
Mae brechiadau ar hyn o bryd yn rhwystro rhyw 2-3 miliwn o farwolaethau y flwyddyn o glefydon fel difftheria, tetanws, y pâs, y ffliw a’r frech goch.
Os bydd digon o bobl yn cael brechiad, mae modd lleihau neu gael gwared o rai clefydon.
Ond os yw pobl yn stopio cael brechiadau, mae clefydon heintus yn gallu ymledu eto yn gyflym iawn.
Byddai effaith brechiadau diogel ac effeithiol COVID-19 yn cynnig amddiffyniad unigol ynghyd â mwy o ddiogelwch i’n hanwyliaid a’n cymunedau. Mewn amser gallai olygu bod cyfyngiadau yn cael eu llacio ac y gallwn symud ymhellach tuag at ddychwelyd i fywyd bob dydd mwy normal.

Covid Data Dashboard
The council have created an interactive data dashboard to help demonstrate the prevalence of Covid-19 in the borough. The dashboard is based on Public Health Wales daily data and shows the distribution of positive Covid-19 tests across our communities over a rolling 7-day period.
The data can be seen on a map and bar charts, with an animation function that shows how this changes over a 10 day period.
Dangosfwrdd Data Covid
Mae’r cyngor wedi creu dangosfwrdd data rhyngweithiol i helpu i dangos pa mor gyffredin yw Covid-19 yn y fwrdeistref. Mae’r bwrdd yn seiliedig ar ddata dyddiol Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru ac mae’n dangos dosbarthiad profion Covid-19 positif ar draws ein cymunedau dros gyfnod treigl o 7 diwrnod.
Gellir gweld y data ar fapiau a siartiau bar, gyda chyfleuster animeiddio sy’n dangos sut mae hyn yn newid dros gyfnod o 10 diwrnod.
Bydd hofran dros y map neu siart yn rhoi rhagor o fanylion.
