Alert for Torfaen

Local coronavirus restrictions remain in place

The restrictions, which still apply to everyone living in Torfaen, are as follows:

  • People will not be allowed to enter or leave Torfaen without a reasonable excuse, such as travel for work or education;
  • People will only be able to meet people they don’t live with outdoors for the time being. They will not be able to form, or be in, extended households (sometimes known as ‘bubbles’). This means meeting indoors (in people’s houses, in a pub or elsewhere) with anyone you don’t live with is not allowed at the moment unless you have a good reason, such as providing care to a vulnerable person.
  • All licensed premises have to stop serving alcohol at 10pm.
  • Everyone over 11 will be required to wear face coverings in indoor places, which are open to the public, such as shops, as well as on public transport – as is the case in the rest of Wales. (There are some limited exemptions for people with disabilities and medical conditions – these are the same as for public transport).

Do you know when your child should self-isolate and how long for, or if others in your household need to stay home?

If your child is showing any of the key symptoms of Covid-19 or they have tested positive, they must self-isolate at home immediately for 10 days. Your household should also self-isolate for 14 days.

If your child is identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, they will need to self-isolate at home for 14 days. Others in the household do not need to self-isolate, including siblings attending the same school, unless they have also been identified as a contact.

If your child is identified as a contact but has a negative result, they must still self-isolate for 14 days. This allows time in case any symptoms are yet to develop. Nobody else in the household needs to self-isolate.

Remember to only book a test for those showing symptoms:

- A new, continuous cough

- A high temperature

- Or a loss or change to taste or smell

Ydych chi'n gwybod pryd y dylai'ch plentyn hunanynysu a pha mor hir, neu a oes angen i eraill yn eich cartref aros adref?

Os yw'ch plentyn yn cael ei nodi fel cyswllt â rhywun sydd wedi profi'n bositif am Covid-19, bydd angen iddo hunanynysu gartref am 14 diwrnod. Nid oes angen i eraill ar yr aelwyd hunanynysu, gan gynnwys brodyr a chwiorydd sy'n mynychu'r un ysgol, oni bai eu bod hefyd wedi'u nodi fel cyswllt.

Os yw'ch plentyn yn cael ei nodi fel cyswllt ond bod ganddo ganlyniad negyddol, rhaid iddo ddal i ynysu ei hun am 14 diwrnod. Mae hyn yn caniatáu amser rhag ofn na fydd unrhyw symptomau wedi datblygu eto. Nid oes angen i unrhyw un arall ar yr aelwyd hunanynysu.

Cofiwch archebu prawf dim ond ar gyfer y rhai sy'n dangos symptomau:
