 Communities for Work, in conjunction with Pontypool Job
Centre are holding a Job’s Fair at The Corn Bin (opposite the Millennium Hall car park), Garndiffaith, on
Tuesday 1 May 2018, 10am until 2pm.
Many employers will be attending including Diamond Pak, Meridian, Avon, McDonalds,
Harvester, Premier Inn and Abergavenny Fine Foods. New participants will have the
opportunity to sign up with CfW/CfW+ in order to gain support, access to
volunteer placements and funded training opportunities.
There will also be a chance to discuss
finances, receive budgeting advice and also discuss any training ideas to help
towards future careers.

Pont-y-pŵl yn cynnal Ffair Swyddi yn y Corn Bin, (gyferbyn â maes parcio Neuadd
y Mileniwm) Garndiffaith, ar ddydd Mawrth 1af Mai 2018, 10am tan 2pm.
Bydd nifer o gyflogwyr yn mynychu gan gynnwys

Training Awards 2018
Torfaen
Training host their second Awards Ceremony which aims to showcase and celebrate
the outstanding achievements of their learners, employers and practitioners who
have exceeded expectations throughout the year.
Following
on from last year’s awards success the search has begun to find those who have
gone that extra mile to develop their skills. There are expected to be an even higher number of entries than last year.
This
years Awards Ceremony will take place in May at the Life Station Trevethin,
Pontypool and the winners of each category will be entered into the
Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2018.

Mae Hyfforddiant Torfaen yn cynnal eu hail
Seremoni Wobrwyo sy’n bwriadu arddangos a dathlu llwyddiannau ardderchog eu
dysgwyr, cyflogwyr am ymarferwyr sydd wedi llwyddo y tu hwnt i’r disgwyl trwy
gydol y flwyddyn.
Ar ôl llwyddiannau gwobrau llynedd mae
ymdrech nawr yn mynd ymlaen i gael hyd i’r rheiny sydd wedi teithio’r ail
filltir i ddatblygu eu sgiliau. Disgwylir y bydd nifer hyd yn oed yn uwch o geisiadau na llynedd.
Bydd y Seremoni Wobrwyo eleni ym Mai yn y

Pontypool
Community Education Centre Community Hub goes from strength to strength!
A long-standing Community Hub at Pontypool CEC is
providing help and support for participants through the ESF Operation, Bridges
into Work 2 and Working Skills for Adults 2 projects.
Katie, Vince, Paul and Sarah as well as other staff
members in the project and at the centre provide a welcoming environment and a
chance to find out about new courses, as well as employment opportunities.
The participants in the group have completed
qualifications and placements; they have also provided a valuable support
network for each other. Other
organisations have attended the session from time to time and participants can
use the group as focal point for discussion of issues that are pertinent. The group is important for conveying
news that is up to date about the projects, such as jobs fairs and provides a
venue for staff to meet participants on a one-to-one or group basis.
The following comments provide some insight into how the
participants feel about Fridays at the Settlement:
‘When I
attend the Settlement with Bridges into Work I find all the advisors are
totally good and willing to help myself with any problems and to give me any
good advice and support’
‘We did my
CV, thoroughly enjoyed today’

mynd o nerth i nerth!
Mae Hyb Cymunedol yng
Nghanolfan Addysg Gymunedol Pont-y-pŵl yn cynnig help a chymorth i gyfranogwyr
trwy gyfrwng prosiectau’r Gronfa Gymdeithasol Ewropeaidd, Pontydd i Waith 2 a Sgiliau
Gwaith ar gyfer Oedolion 2.
Mae Katie, Vince, Paul a Sarah
ynghyd ag aelodau staff eraill y Prosiect a’r Ganolfan yn darparu amgylchedd
croesawgar a chyfle i gael gwybod am gyrsiau newydd, ynghyd â chyfleoedd gwaith.
Mae’r cyfranogwyr yn
y grŵp wedi cwblhau cymwysterau a lleoliadau; maent hefyd wedi darparu
rhwydwaith cymorth gwerthfawr i’w gilydd. Mae mudiadau eraill wedi mynychu’r
sesiwn o bryd i’w gilydd a gall cyfranogwyr ddefnyddio’r grŵp fel canolbwynt ar
gyfer trafod y materion sy’n berthnasol. Mae’r grŵp hefyd yn bwysig ar gyfer
cyfleu’r newyddion diweddaraf ar y Prosiectau, megis Ffeiriau Swyddi, ac mae’n
cynnig lleoliad i staff gyfarfod cyfranogwyr ar sail un-i-un neu fel grŵp.
Mae’r canlynol yn rhoi
cipolwg ar sut mae’r cyfranogwyr yn teimlo am Ddydd Gwener yn y Settlement:
