Clearing snow and ice from pavements
There's no law stopping you from clearing snow and ice on the pavement outside your home or from public spaces. The yellow grit bins are there for residents to use on local trouble spots – please use the salt sensibly, as a thin layer is usually all that is needed to be effective. Advice and information is available on www.gov.uk.
