Torfaen businesses take off at Fairwater shops / Busnesau Torfaen yn taro’r nod ymysg siopau Fairwater

Two new ventures, supported by Torfaen council and it's partner agencies has recently launched in Fairwater shops, Cwmbran. First up was Pretty Little Paws, a dog grooming and accessories business run by local lady Katie Davies. Supported by family and friends, Katie launched the enterprise and is now open for business. On the same day Dan Williams and Steve Jenkins launched Vitalize Radio – the voice of Torfaen, a new internet based radio station.

Y cyntaf oedd Pretty Little Paws, busnes twtio cŵn ac ategolion dan ofal gwraig leol Katie Davies. Gyda chefnogaeth teulu a ffrindiau, lansiodd Katie y fenter ac erbyn hyn mae'r busnes ar agor. Get Verified GOV.UK Verify is the new way for you to prove who you are online, so you can use services on GOV.UK safely.   As of 1st July, anyone receiving any government benefit will be required to have a 'Verify' account. This proves your identity when accessing online services.

Introducing the Inspire project staff teams recruited as part of the regional ESF funded Inspire project. This includes the Inspire to Work project team who work with 16-24 year olds who are unemployed, and the Inspire to achieve project team who work in schools supporting young people who need some additional support in their transition post 16.

Mae hyn yn cynnwys y tîm Ysbrydoli i Weithio sy’n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc 16-24 sy’n ddi-waith, a’r tîm prosiect Ysbrydoli i Gyflawni sy’n gweithio mewn ysgolion yn cynorthwyo pobl ifanc sydd angen cymorth ychwanegol yn y cyfnod pontio ar ôl 16.

Project success helps people Into employment 5 unemployed Torfaen residents have entered work this month through a collaborative partnership between the ESF funded Communities for Work programme and Bron Afon Housing Association.  The 5 residents to benefit from the scheme were amongst others who attended a week long training provision that included Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment, Working at Heights, Safety Harness and Asbestos Awareness.    Read the full story...

Llwyddiant prosiect yn pobl i fyd gwaith Mae 5 o drigolion di-waith yn Nhorfaen wedi dechrau ym myd gwaith yr wythnos hon drwy bartneriaeth gydweithredol rhwng rhaglen waith Cymunedau am Waith a ariennir gan Gronfa Gymdeithasol Ewrop a Chymdeithas Tai Bron Afon.    Roedd y 5 o drigolion diweddaraf i elwa ar y cynllun, ymhlith eraill a fynychodd hyfforddiant wythnos a oedd yn cynnwys Lefel 1 Iechyd a Diogelwch mewn Amgylchedd Adeiladu, Gweithio ar Uchder, Harnais Diogelwch ac Ymwybyddiaeth o Asbestos.    Darllenwch y stori lawn...

A number of Bridges into Work 2 learners were nominated for the Inspire! Adult Learners’ Award 2017. Even though they didn’t make it to the final, they have been recognised for their achievements.
