Year five pupils from primary schools in Cwmbran took part in the annual Keep Me Safe quiz on Wednesday 22 March.
The quiz is hosted by a partnership of South Wales Fire and Rescue, Gwent Police, Torfaen council, the Food Standards Agency and Western Power, and is held after weeks of workshops at schools designed to equip children with valuable safety skills and other useful information.
The quiz was won by a team from Llantarnam Primary School, while Maendy Primary School were given a special award for getting the most questions right about household recycling in Torfaen.

Trefnir y cwis mewn partneriaeth â Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub De Cymru, Heddlu Gwent, cyngor Torfaen, yr Asiantaeth Safonau Bwyd a Western Power, a chaiff ei gynnal yn dilyn wythnosau o weithdai yn yr ysgolion i sicrhau bod gan y plant sgiliau diogelwch gwerthfawr a phob math o wybodaeth arall sy’n ddefnyddiol.
Enillwyr y cwis oedd tîm o Ysgol Gynradd Llantarnam, tra cafodd Ysgol Gynradd Maendy wobr arbennig am ateb y mwyafrif o gwestiynau’n gywir ynghylch ailgylchu eitemau o’r cartref yn Nhorfaen.
