Last chance to complete recycling survey

Bin Waste and Recycling Collections

There are just two days left to take part in our residents' recycling survey, which closes on Friday 12 August.

We are in the process of refreshing our waste management strategy to reflect Welsh Government targets requiring us to recycle 70% of all residential waste by 2025. We currently recycle about 58% of our waste and as part of this process we are asking you how can we enable you and your neighbours to recycle more.

  • How can we improve our service to enable residents to recycle more?
  • What should we do if residents refuse to recycle?
  • How can we encourage more businesses, charities, community groups and other organisations to use our recycling services?

The results will be collated and used to inform the council’s future waste management strategy. To have your say visit our website.

knives

Dispose of knives safely

Please dispose of knives and sharp cutlery safely, either in your purple lidded wheelie bins, or at the household waste recycling centre in New Inn. Knives and cutlery cannot be recycled at the kerbside and pose a serious risk to collection crew who sort the recycling by hand.

plastic bottles

Wash and squash

Rising out your plastics and squashing them will not only free up space in your black recycling box, but allow us to collect more before we have to return to tip off what we have collected at our site in Ty Coch, Cwmbran. So when you are recycling your plastics, think 'wash and squash'!

Black Box Recycling

Order containers free of charge

Don't forget that you can have as many recycling containers as you need, free of charge.
Black recycling boxes, blue cardboard bags, kitchen and kerbside food caddies, and green garden waste bins can all be ordered from our website
