Somerset West & Taunton event and things to do platform

As part of the Somerset West and Taunton ERDF Welcome Back Fund the Council has commissioned Visit Exmoor and Visit Somerset to develop and host a searchable database and online events calendar for the area that can be found at

https://www.visit-exmoor.co.uk/promoting-events-across-somerset-west-taunton

The events platform enables event organisers across the area to submit information via an online form about events taking place in their area. Visitors to the platform are able to search for events by location, month, type of event, free of charge, family friendly, wheelchair accessible to find events of interest. To raise awareness, Visit Exmoor and Visit Somerset social media channels have a combined audience of over 100,000 followers to maximise exposure of the events.

Somerset Day, which marks the day in May 878 when Alfred the Great defeated the invading Danish army.

Train4tommorrow: The South West is facing a talent crisis!

The South West is facing a talent crisis! However Train4Tomorrow, a government-funded programme, is working to address this. Train4Tomorrow is designed to help local people progress into highly skilled careers, and to fulfil the digital skills gap South West businesses are facing. To date Train4Tomorrow has delivered free, high quality, digital training to over 1,000 adults in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, Torbay, Cornwall and Dorset.  The programme offers a range of courses including Digital Marketing, Cyber Readiness, IT Readiness, Agile Project Management and more, all taught to Level 3, which is equivalent to A-Levels. You can find out more about the programme at train4tomorrow.org.uk. We are now looking to connect local employers with the highly-skilled talent completing the boot camps at a free-to-attend Digital Jobs Fair (taking place online). The jobs fair will take place on March 16, 2022 from 9am to 1pm, and we are inviting the latest cohort of 250+ learners to attend.
