Last Days for Shop4Good prizes

The shop4good quiz and prize draw are closing at 11pm this Sunday, 21 November, so there’s still time to take part.  If you haven’t done it yet, we think you’ll find the quiz + footprint fun, it takes just 5 minutes, and there are some surprising facts in there.

There are low-carbon prizes for all entries across the UK, including: Electric blankets (which we think are the solution to the fuel crisis), organic wine and restaurant and cinema tickets, depending which region you are in - see our website for details of prizes.

Retake your footprint

The best way to use the carbon footprint calculators is to do your footprint every 6 months or so, so you can track progress.

If you have calculated your footprint before, we’d love it if you do it again this week so we can include it in our upcoming report on how regions are reducing their carbon footprints. We’ll send this out in the next few weeks.

New Award

Hot on the heels of the South West Energy Efficiency Champion of the Year Award being given to Mukti Mitchell (director of Carbon Savvy) comes another award: Mukti and Maya from the Carbon Savvy team, with parents Satish Kumar and June Mitchell and next generation Samay Ball, have together won the UK Greenest Family Award.  The youngest member of the family attends quarterly local council meetings, at age 11, to help keep her council on track to net zero emissions!

Read more about what they do to be a green family here.

Acting on COP26

The 26th Conference Of the Parties has come to a close, focusing minds on science-based targets.  But let’s remember that governments can only set targets - to reach them every individual, business and organisation in the country needs to reduce their own carbon footprint to net zero.  Shop4good is one step on this journey.
