Business As Usual at the Councils

South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council would like to reassure residents that it business as usual.

The councils are currently reviewing all of the latest guidance and will respond to new legislation as it emerges.

Following the COVID secure measures that were put in place to protect staff and the general public during the lock down in March, both authorities are well placed to respond quickly and at the moment, many of their services can continue.  Risk assessments are constantly being reviewed and work prioritized.  If some services have to be discontinued or delayed it will be as a result of staff being transferred onto critical or urgent tasks.

All office staff are still working remotely at home, answering the phones and responding to customer enquiries. Under the current guidance, public spaces, play parks and public amenities such as car parks and toilets will remain open, with safety measures still in place.
