Leisure Centres
Our city council-run leisure centres provide accessible facilities and inclusive activities for families:
Dimensions Leisure Centre – features Sensory Splash sessions, a calmer swimming experience designed for children with SEND. The centre also offers accessible changing facilities and hoists for ease of use.
Fenton Manor Sports Complex – offers SEND swimming sessions in a warm teaching pool, with hoists and supportive staff. It’s also home to a wide range of sports events and classes.
New Horizons Sport and Leisure Centre – includes a 24 metre pool offering swimming lessons and public swimming session
Watch our video below to see how Dimensions and Fenton Manor make inclusion a priority:
Cricket - Staffordshire Cricket’s Super 1s programme runs year-round for ages 10–25, offering adapted cricket sessions for young people with disabilities.
Dance - Breakthrou’ FRONTLINE Danceoffers integrated dance for disabled and non-disabled dancers, plus weekend workshops for wheelchair users and their families. These sessions encourage creativity and movement in a supportive environment.
Other local organisations also provide opportunities for families to enjoy physical activity together, from inclusive cycling to adapted fitness classes. Explore more options below:
...let's hand over to our children and young people to explain what inclusion means to them. This fantastic film was filmed with the help of the students of Stoke-on-Trent City College, and features students from Discovery Academy, St. Peter's Academy, Alexandra Infants, Alexandra Junior, Our Lady's Catholic Academy and Kemball School.
