...to the latest SEND Families Newsletter!
This term, we’re inviting children and young people to share their views on local services through school visits, surveys, and the Young Commissioners programme - a fantastic opportunity for young people to help shape the future of SEND support in Stoke-on-Trent.
Families are also encouraged to contribute ideas to improve the Children & Families Website at MPFT, ensuring it reflects your needs and experiences.
SEND Team Updates
We’re excited to share updates on the new Cluster Funding Pilot, which allows schools to access support for children with SEND without needing an EHCP. Plus, Stoke-on-Trent is trialling Artificial Intelligence to help streamline EHCP processes—freeing up caseworkers to spend more time working with families.
Early Years Updates
For younger children, the Peter Pan Centre is offering new early years programmes and Stay & Play sessions, whilst we’ve included an update on SENIF and DAF funding to help you understand how your child’s early years setting might be able to access extra support.
Family Support
Finally, don’t miss the new monthly SEND support groups from Project Indi, offering a warm and welcoming space for parents and carers. And for those navigating transitions, our Educational Psychology Service shares practical tips to help children feel safe and supported.
