Coronavirus Update 03.04.20

Volunteer carers step forward

I Care image

Last Friday, we called on Staffordshire's people to help care for our elderly and vulnerable residents in their homes during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Over 350 people have answered that call. A huge thank you to each and everyone one of you.

Almost 100 of our new volunteers will receive their training next week.

It's not too late to put yourself forward and make a real difference to someone's life.

Volunteer to care

New support fund launches

Community and voluntary groups from across Staffordshire are being invited to apply for funding to help support their local communities through the Coronavirus crisis and beyond.

Our new COVID-19 Support Fund will provide grants to community groups to help them do their bit and support the voluntary sector to thrive now and after the crisis.

Enjoy the outdoors safely

Warmer weather is forecast for this weekend and we know this is the time of year when you start to enjoy outdoor spaces more.

Please continue to follow Government social distancing guidance and do not put yourself or others at risk.

If using local footpaths and bridleways when taking your daily exercise please:

  • Use the path network alone or only with other members of your household
  • Do not gather in groups or undertake group activities
  • Stay two metres away from other people including landowners
  • Where possible wear gloves when opening or closing gates
  • Wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds after your exercise

For everyone's safety, please avoid unnecessary travel and exercise as close to home as possible.
