Developer made to pay £6,700 after building unlawful ‘road to nowhere’ in green belt
A property developer has been ordered to pay more than £6,700 after building ‘a road to nowhere’ on open green belt land in South Staffordshire.
The road, built by Lawnswood Homes Ltd, is situated on land off Springhill Lane, Lower Penn.
The developer built the road after failing to comply with conditions relating to approved plans in relation to the construction of a four-bedroom detached property.
Instead of constructing a driveway for the property in early 2019, they built a new road on green belt land, which led to further protected green belt land.

Coming soon: New My Login feature
A brand-new feature is coming soon to our website - allowing residents to report issues and access a range of services, any time from anywhere.
From October 17th, you will be able to report a range of issues directly to us through our new My Login system. This allows anyone in the district to let us know about fly-tipping, littering, abandoned vehicles, antisocial behaviour and more - whenever and wherever is convenient for them.
By creating a new My Login account, residents will also be able to access a range of other services and details – including paying bills, viewing their council tax account and more.
