Claim your energy voucher day - May 31st
on May 31st, The government launched a campaign urging households with traditional prepayment meters to claim their vouchers to avoid missing out on £400 worth of help with their bills.
Vouchers were sent out in the post to households with prepayment meters but £130 million of government support is unclaimed! However, with a month left of the scheme, the government is renewing its efforts to see as many vouchers redeemed as possible.
People need to visit a post office or PayPoint with their Energy Bills Support vouchers and identification before June 30th.
Those on a traditional prepayment meter who have not received the vouchers, or are unsure of how to redeem them, or need a voucher to be reissued, should contact their supplier.
Eligible groups have less than one month left to apply for support.

Empathy Day is a focal point for celebrating and growing empathy's power to create a better world. It aims to develop an understanding of books' role in raising an empathy-educated generation.
Empathy Day inspires children and young people to learn more about empathy, have transformational experiences through stories and put empathy into action!

Practical tips for child safety around dogs
As part of Child Safety Week , June 5th to 11th, the Child Accident Prevention Trust is promoting the Dog Safety Code which encourages everyone to be alert, aware and, most importantly, safe around dogs.
We are a nation of dog lovers and dogs are often part of the family, so it is vital that both parents and children are equipped with the knowledge they need to enjoy spending time with dogs safely.
We know that sometimes dog bites can happen because of certain circumstances or because we miss important signals from dogs. Being dog safe and following the Dog Safety Code can help to prevent that from happening.
It is important that families are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy spending time with dogs safely. Close supervision of children and dogs is key.
- Be alert
- Be aware
- Be Safe
For further information on the above bullet points and for more practical tips read the Child Accident Prevention Trust’s dog safety fact sheets: https://capt.org.uk/dogs-and-children
