August Bank Holiday 2020 COVID-19 guidance: Keeping Southwark Safe
Southwark Council sent this bulletin at 28-08-2020 09:59 AM BST
Good morning,
Unfortunately, the number of COVID-19 cases is increasing across London. Over the last week, cases have increased significantly in the London Borough of Southwark, particularly among younger adults.
This bank holiday weekend will see many residents and visitors in the borough, enjoying the vast range of amenities we have on offer in Southwark. All businesses in Southwark have a part to play in Keeping Southwark Safe; whether you are one of our many food establishments, a local beauty salon, or an arts venue. It is important that all bank holiday activities can be enjoyed as safely as possible.
It is essential that you follow all COVID-19 guidance to be ‘COVID secure’.
As a business, you must:
- Ensure the highest levels of hygiene across your premises
- Comply with NHS Test and Trace requirements and encourage all your visitors to leave their details
- Ensure that social distancing is applied at all times
- Increase staff awareness of their role in assuring COVID security
- Ensure that the workplace enables all staff to work safely
- Restrict access to the site
The council have designed a range of posters, available here, to help you manage social distancing and keep your staff and customers safe. Please print out these resources and make them highly visible within your venues: for example, by putting posters in the entrance and in the toilets.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss the guidance with a public health officer, please contact: publichealth@southwark.gov.uk
Please help us by sharing this message widely with your business networks and tenants, where applicable.
Thank you for your help in Keeping Southwark Safe.
Kind regards,
Jin Lim
