Bede House Association is a multi-purpose charity working with the local communities of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe in the London Borough of Southwark. Our Bede Youth Adventure Project provides clubs, detached youth work, adventure residentials and practical learning and support for over 150 local young people each year.

Youth Support Work Intern, Bede Youth Adventure Project, Bede Centre, Abbeyfield Road, London SE16.

£10.20 per hour (London Living Wage), one year, full time contract sponsored by the Jack Petchey Foundation’s Internship Scheme

35 hours a week, Monday to Friday daytime and evening hours during term time and day time during school holidays. Occasional weekends and overnight stays will be required.

You will be willing to undertake a youth work training course for which further funding is available towards costs. You will be comfortable using your initiative in supporting the team leaders during youth club, and detached youth work sessions. You’ll enjoy adventure activity, and be committed to working with young people in challenging circumstances. You’ll have good literacy, numeracy and MS Office skills. The ability to drive a minibus would be highly desirable (training will be given to the successful intern holding a clean driving licence for at least 2 years). Auto-enrolment pension available and Bede will match employee’s pension contribution up to 5% of basic salary.

Deadline for completed applications is 5pm August 3rd, 2018.

Interviews on 23rd August 2018.
