Southampton Music Services is delighted to announce it has been awarded a grant of £91,000 from Youth Music Network to deliver the Early Tweets Music Making Project.

The aims of the project are to deliver high quality music sessions to as many young children as possible across the city, as well as developing a more skilled and knowledgeable musical work force who are able to lead and innovate in Early Years music making. The project also seeks to engage families in musical activity in the home and at community events so that music is embedded in lifestyles.

The project will be beginning in the Spring term – further details coming soon!

Glenfield Infant School achieves singing award

Glenfield Infant School achieved a Gold Singup award in the summer for their vocal accomplishments.

The school also raised over £1,000 for Diabetes UK from a sponsored sing held, which involved all of the pupils there. The hub would like to congratulate Glenfield School staff and children on their wonderful achievement.

Congratulations to Con Brio Award holders!

Southampton Music Services would like to congratulate the 240 young musicians from Southampton who received a Con Brio award this year.  Con Brio is the music services own reward scheme which recognises students effort and commitment to music making.  We would like to say a special well done to the ten students who achieved the Gold award.  To achieve this level students have to demonstrate they are independent learners and take an active part in music in their school and the wider community.
