This creative workshop will offer an introduction to cushion making and will allow you to exercise your craft-making skills. Learn more about using your machine attachments, inserting buttonholes and zips, and try out free-machine embroidery. Please bring your own machine with all attachments (your will need to be able to do a zig-zag stitch) and basic sewing tools; scissors, threads, needles, pins and tape. Some fabric will be provided but please bring any fabric you want to work with and a cushion.

Meet The Ancestors

Step back in time to Tudor Southampton at this popular FREE event part of the Tudor Revels Project. There will be Tudor dancing, re-enactments and dramatic interludes, talks from history experts, book stalls, art exhibitions and guided walks taking place in and around God's House Tower and Gate. Fayre In The Square

Saturday 28 September / 11am - 2pm / St Michael's Square, Bugle Street

There will be an eclectic mix of stalls out in the square as part of the Tudor Revels celebration. Come and pick up some bric-a-brac, plants, books and homemade cakes. You can also take part in the “silent auction” of photographs. 

St Michael's Church, the oldest building within the Old Walls, will be open to visitors. Find out more here.

Southampton’s archaeological past will be explored during this informative tour of the Gateway exhibition at SeaCity Museum. The tour will be followed by a practical workshop. Using microscopes, inspect artifacts and discover the skills that early settlers brought with them, how they lived, worked and why they arrived in the area. The focus will be on Romans, Saxons and Medieval Southampton.
