Manet on tour - curator talk

Join Colin Harrison, Senior Curator of European Art at the Ashmolean Museum for a lecture on their recent acquisition, Portrait of Mademoiselle Claus, which is on tour at the Southampton City Art Gallery. Manet's painting had only been exhibited once since it was painted in 1868. This lecture will explore the significance of the portrait and its importance to John Singer Sargent, who bought it at Manet's studio sale in 1884. Click here for more information.
