Southampton Music Hub Instrument Fayre
The Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Ivan White, was impressed with the musical talent and opportunities provided at the Southampton Music Fayre on 22 June. The Mayor said: "The event not only demonstrated the musical success both of playing and singing by children and young people of the city, but it also gave other people a chance to try all sorts of musical instruments. Thanks must also go to those who are helping to bring the joy of music (from pop to classical) to the young people of our city."

Write Here, Write Now with Matilda
Write Here, Write Now with Matilda is a free, online creative writing resource for schools, inspired by Matilda The Musical. To celebrate the launch of this new resource, the Royal Shakespeare Company set a National Writing Challenge inviting schools to create an original script (or song) to be performed live in a special performance at London's Cambridge Theatre by the musical's West End cast.
Out of over 200 entries from schools across the UK, Bitterne Park students Hiro Jones and Melissa Newlove have been selected as two of only eight finalists. Good luck to both students! For more details click here.
