Road works update for 22 August onwards

This is your regular round-up of road works on main routes through the city. The update covers council repairs to roads (carried out for us by Balfour Beatty) and utility work.

Current work: 

Hulse Road will be closed from Northlands Road to Banister Road until 24 August for road resurfacing.
Thomas Lewis Way no left turn at the junction with Stoneham Way until 26 September for drainage repair work.
Romsey Road has temporary traffic lights from Green Laneat to Ashmead Road until 24 August, for kerb and footpath replacement.  
Malvern Road and Bladon Road are closed at the Winchester Road junction until 3 September for gas mains replacement.
Foundry Lane is closed from Benson Road to Ampthill Road until 4 September for gas mains replacement.
Helvellyn Road is closed from Shinewell Gardens until 4 September for redevelopment work.

Future work:

West Marlands Road will be closed from Civic Centre Road to Gibbs Road 26 August (12pm - 8pm) for a bank holiday music festival. 
Vincent Avenue will be closed at the junction with Winchester Road 28 August - 23 October for gas mains replacement. 
Romsey Road will be closed from Rownhams Road to Lancaster Road 28 - 31 August 7pm-6am for road resurfacing.
Tunstall Road has temporary traffic lights from 28 August - 2 October for gas mains replacement.  
Wide Lane will be closed from Stoneham Way to Mansbridge Road on 29 August (after morning rush hours) for 24 hours for urgent gas mains remedial reinstatement repair work. (Please note two-way temporary traffic lights will be put in place as well as an extensive diversion route via junction 5 of the M27)
Wessex Lane will be closed at its junction with Wide Lane on 29 August for 24 hours for urgent gas mains remedial reinstatement repair work. 
Hanley Road will be closed from Wilton Road to St. James Road on 2 September (9am-10pm) for a street party.
Wilton Road will be closed at its junction with Winchester Road (to approximately 20 metres south-east of the junction) on 3 September for 7 weeks for gas mains replacement work.
Herbert Walker Avenue will be closed from West Quay Road roundabout to Dock Gate 8, 3-28 Septemberfor Southampton Boatshow.
Chapel Road will be closed from Nelson Street to Grove Street 16 September 12am-9am for level crossing maintenance.
West Quay Road will be closed from Harbour Parade to the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel on 5 and 26 September overnight, to allow the Boat Show bridge to be constructed and dismantled.
Oxford Street will be closed from Orchard Place to Latimer Street from 24 September for 20 weeks (excluding Christmas shut down) for footway improvement works.
