Inspire your children to read in the summer holidays
14 July – 8 Sept / Southampton Libraries / FREE
This year's Summer Reading Challenge revolves around an imaginary Story Lab Headquarters, where children can read, collect, share, create, transmit and broadcast stories. Sign up at your local library and as your children read library books over the summer holidays they will collect prizes. Children who read six books will receive a certificate and a medal, presented by the Mayor at a special ceremony.
Munglers trump cards for Summer Reading Challenge participants
14 July – 8 Sept / Southampton Libraries / FREE
This summer, every time children read a book as
part of the Summer Reading Challenge, they can collect special Super
Mungler ‘trump’ cards featuring the Munglers monster characters! If you
don't know who the Munglers are yet, find out more here.
What to read next?
When children ask “What shall I read next?” or “Who writes like my favourite author?”, the answers are all here on our new website Who Next…? Children’s fiction authors are listed alongside authors who write in a similar way, together with recommended books and series titles. We have lots of suggestions to suit you! Visit the website here.
