Later at the Library - Author talk with Claire Gradidge
 Join us for an evening in the company of Claire Gradidge, winner of the Richard and Judy 'Search for a Bestseller' competition for her World War Two crime novel, "The Unexpected Return of Josephine Fox".
Claire is a local author, whose novel is set in Romsey and combines local history with the craft of storytelling in a compelling experience for book-lovers, writers and local aficionados.
The evening will be hosted by former journalist and fellow writer, Carole Burns, Head of Creative Writing in English at University of Southampton, and will feature, conversations, readings, and the opportunity for audience members to have questions answered.

"A Marriage of Minds" Workshops at Woolston Library
Join Nuffield Southampton Theatres for free workshops at Woolston Library to create a truly special piece in time for their Christmas show, Cinderella opening at the end of November.
Based on the major themes of love and marriage featuring in several shows at NST, the workshops will examine the differences and similarities in the traditions of love and marriage across different cultures in the city.
Everyone involved will get the opportunity to express their ideas and traditions in a variety of different ways, from photos and word maps, to contributing to a spectacular piece of costume that would be exhibited during the run of Cinderella.

Could you make a difference to a child's life?
Southampton City Council foster carers provide stable homes for children who can no longer live with their birth families at this time and have come into the care of the Local Authority. They offer a supportive, caring and secure foundation, enabling children and young people to move into the future with confidence.

New Digital Reading Group
Introducing our new Southampton City Libraries digital reading group! Join the group on Facebook now.
Each month a new title will be available to download via BorrowBox using your Southampton Library Card and pin number.
There will be no waiting list and each month's title will be available in both eBook and eAudiobook format to suit those that have a preference for either or maybe even both!
Throughout the month you will be able to discuss the book with others in the group online and at your own convenience with less pressure to have read the book by a certain date.
