Hearing loop group

Funding boost in bid to make Southampton first city to have hearing loop in every public space

Southampton City Council, GO! Southampton, NHS Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group, Southampton Healthwatch and Lets Loop Southampton have teamed up to help provide hearing loop systems for across the city for free.

The partnership is expected to benefit the estimated 33,500 Southampton residents with hearing loss conditions. Small businesses and GP Surgeries across Southampton can visit our website to apply for a hearing loop system.

Telecare certificate

City Telecare Service receives nationally recognised accreditation for 11th year

City Telecare Services successfully obtained accreditation with the Telecare Services Association (TSA) following a recent audit. This means they comply with the TSA Code of Practice in referral, service tailoring, installation, monitoring and response for all Telecare services.

Telecare Services currently supports over 6,300 city residents (and over 2,700 Portsmouth residents) providing 24-hour help, security and peace of mind whilst at home.

School expansion plan

Give your views on local school expansion plans

We'd like your views on proposed plans for St Mark’s Church of England Primary School in Shirley to expand into an ‘All-Through’ school offering both primary and secondary education on one site.

Local residents and other members of the local community are invited to view planning proposals for the next phase of the project at St Mark's Church of England Primary School (School Hall) on:   

  • Wednesday 18 September between 3-6pm
  • Thursday 19 September between 3- 7pm

Members of Southampton City Council, a Winchester Diocesan representative, and a team of technical consultants will be available to talk about the proposals and answer questions.

EU Settlement Scanning and Verification Service 

Southampton Register Office are open Saturday 7 September from 9-11am for the scanning and verification service. This is an extra session.

If you’re a European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizen, you and your family will be able to apply to get either settled or pre-settled status.

The walk-in service is being held at 6A Bugle Street, Southampton, SO14 2AJ. Please do not apply online before you arrive.

St Marys Leisure Centre

Have your say about St Mary's Leisure centre

We want to know how you think the St Mary’s facility should operate in the future to work best for the local community and the wider city.

The arrangement with Southampton City Council for the University to operate St Mary’s Leisure Centre will come to an end later this year. Deadline for your views is Sunday 8 September.
