Universities help to change and shape the local communities in cities. Southampton City Council has partnered with Solent University to bring you 'The civic university - transforming lives through collaboration'

A FREE 2hr event being held at The Spark on 18 June. If you're interested in the future of Southampton and the role the university has in supporting the vision of Southampton as ‘A city of opportunity where everyone thrives’, then this event provides talks and workshops enabling you to feed ideas for collaboration, around the themes of:

  • Creating a city of life-long learning
  • Building a culturally enriched and cohesive city
  • Championing a healthy and sustainable community

The event is open to all: whether you work in the public, private or voluntary sector, run your own business or are a local resident. Sign up via Eventbrite.

Southampton Operatic Society invites you on a musical journey across five continents, with staged highlights from shows including 42nd Street, Sunset Boulevard, Evita, The Lion King, Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and more.

A cash bar will be available for refreshments during the 20 minute interval. The society supports a number of local and national charities.

The Arches Studios throws open the doors to welcome the public to all four arches.
The weekend lets visitors explore the spaces, meet the artists and see the work made over the past year, with opportunities to buy work directly from them and to take part in workshops,
demonstrations and artist-led activities including Environmental Sculpture Making, Glow in the Dark Drawing, Portrait Painting, and Natural Plant Dyes as well as much more.
