In the 2018 CBI report Matthew Fell said ‘companies perform better when their staff are happier, healthier and more engaged’ and they calculate that absence costs SMEs £782 per person per year. More generally, the CIPD estimate the cost of sickness absence to be 8% of payroll. Do you know what it costs you?

Absence, presenteeism and turnover go down when staff feel proud of what they do and where they work. We all want -
