Christmas Opening Hours

All our venues will be closed at various points over the Christmas break, however SeaCity is open between Christmas and New Year, which is an ideal time to take in Port Out, Southampton Home if you've not had a chance to visit!

 

All of our venues are open from 10am on Monday 2 January, and as it's a bank holiday, Tudor House will be open until 5pm! See below for the full run-down:

  • SeaCity Museum: Closed 24-26 Dec 2016 & 1 Jan 2017. Open from 10am-5pm on all other days.
  • Tudor House & Garden: Closed 24 Dec 2016 – 1 Jan 2017 (inclusive). Re-opens 2 Jan 2017 from 10am – 5pm.
  • Southampton City Art Gallery: Closed 24 Dec 2016 – 1 Jan 2017 (inclusive). Re-opens 2 Jan 2017 from 10am – 5pm.

Burne Jones

Perseus series conservation recieves new funding

The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation has awarded the gallery £3,600 to conserve 3 frames in the well-loved Perseus series by Edward Burne-Jones.

There is now just over £3250 left for The Friends of Southampton’s Museums, Archives and Galleries (FoSMAG) to raise to enable the gallery to conserve all of the frames in the series. You can donate to by texting FSMaG40 £3 to 70070 to give £3. Find out more.


Mikhail Karikis

The Polygon School & BAS8 artist Mikhail Karikis make new work

British Art Show 8 artist Mikhail Karikis has been working with Polygon School on a film inspired by his work Children of Unquiet (2013-14), featuring Southampton's geothermal power station. Check out this video by Solent Creatives to find out more!
