Dominic Gardner played principle trombone with the 2016 NYO Inspire Orchestra, and you can see his stand up solo on YouTube!
Below is a picture of Alexandra Walker playing Solo Cornet in the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain. Alexandra started playing her instrument with Southampton Music Service in year 3 at Holy Family.
And in the picture below you can see SMS pupils Christopher Lotery and Morro Barry playing Eb Tuba in the National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain 2016.

String Day
Friday 28 October 2016 / 10am-6pm / Richard Tauntons Sixth Form College / £10
Peter Esswood and BSO Resonate Strings are coming to join us at RTSFC for a day of string playing. We shall be learning Holst's 'St Paul's Suite' and the 'Two Elegaic Pieces' by Grieg. The BSO players will be leading the sections and running sectionals with Peter conducting the whole orchestra. It will be a fantastic opportunity to find out how the professionals work and to work on our orchestral skills as a large string section. The day costs just £10 and is open to all string players in SYS, SYCS and SYO and also to any other string players who are interested and of at least a Grade 5 standard.
