The Tempest

On Tuesday 19 July, Heartbreak Productions present their adaptation of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' in the beautiful setting of Brueton Park. Gather round their stone circle to meet druids, bards and revellers who will perform a mystical rendition of Shakespeare’s final play.

Orienteering event

Come along and try the outdoor adventure navigation sport with the local club, Octavian Droobers on Wednesday 20 July, starting at 6.00pm and finishing at 7.30pm .There will be courses from 1Km to 6Km, easy to advanced for ages from 5 to 85! 

 

The cost is £4.00 per adult, juniors free, plus £1 for the hire of a timer.

Racing event

Come and watch some fast and furious pedal car racing on Sunday 24 July as the British Federation of Pedal Car Racing hold round 4 of their championship in the park.

Music in the Park: Love Parks, Love Brass

Celebrate the last day of 'Love Parks Week' on Sunrday 24 July, with a rousing music finale in Shirley park from the Shirly band! The band will be performing a varied programme of brass favourites old and new.

 

 

The event will take place between 2.00pm-4.15pm. Toilets and refreshments are available at The Bridge in Shirley Park, where the concert will take place in the case of wet weather. Visitors are welcome to bring picnics to make the most of their day out in the park.


What is Love Parks week?

Love Parks week is all about raising awareness of the importance of parks and green spaces.

It is a platform for thousands of park lovers to join forces in the UKs largest celebration of green spaces.


This year is the 10th Anniversary for Love Parks Week and events are happening all over the UK to ensure it is celebrated to the full.
