Childminder regulation changes: an update session with the DfE
7pm - 8pm, Tuesday 22 October
Online session for childminders
|
Good afternoon,
I'm writing from the Early Years Alliance to let you know that later this month, we will be running a free virtual session with the Department for Education, aimed at childminding professionals, on plans to introduce a new category of childminder – 'childminder without domestic premises' – in November. Ofsted representatives will be in attendance at the event to answer childminders' questions as well.
The hour-long event will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 22 October. It is a free online session and is available to both Alliance members and non-members. Childminders can book their place at bit.ly/EYACMNonDom – please note, they will need to register for our online training and resource hub EYA Central, if they haven't already, to book their free space.
We're keen to welcome as many childminders as possible to this event and so would be grateful if you were able to share this information with your childminder networks.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
All the best,
Shannon Pite

One of the most controversial decisions to make as a new parent is whether or not to introduce a dummy, or as it’s often called outside of the UK, a pacifier.
There can be a confusing array of baby-soothing tools on the market, with products with names like 'newborn pacifiers' making claims that they’re great for calming babies.
To look beyond the marketing and explain the potential benefits and risks of dummies so that you can make the right choice for you and your baby, Tiny Happy People has spoken to health visitor Kerry Bennett from Better Start Bradford.
