Shropshire Council and NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin have launched a new survey, aimed at understanding local people’s experiences of accessing Special Educational Needs and Disability services for children and young people in the last 6 months.
The survey, which is open until Friday 29 September , will help shape changes to services across the area and is a key part of Shropshire Council’s Accelerated Progress Plan.
click here to complete the survey and have your say, before Friday 29 September.
SEN CPD will be added to the CPD page on the SLG in the coming weeks. This will include SEND and Inclusion networks which replace the SENCo forums.
We have recently received several inquiries regarding eligibility criteria, and we would like to help clarify this information.
A parent may meet the eligibility criteria for both the entitlement for families in receipt of additional support (aka, the disadvantaged entitlement) and the working parent entitlement. Local authorities have a duty to account for any hours available under the disadvantaged entitlement when determining how many hours a parent is eligible for under the working entitlement. This means that these families must be recorded as disadvantaged.
The attached Word document sets out how we expect these families to transition onto the universal and working parent entitlements once the child reaches the term following their third birthday.
