Face of Direct Payments

Shropshire Council are launching a Marketing Campaign to help raise awareness of Direct Payments in Shropshire.

Volunteers Needed!

This is a great opportunity for anyone in receipt of a direct payment or who may have been involved in developing the ‘Direct Payment Welcome Packs’, to get involved!

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have an interest in helping us to develop the packs further. Tell us what you think!

If you are interested, please let the Direct Payment Team know by Friday 7^th April. direct.payments@shropshire.gov.uk

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Insurance:

Certain home employment insurance policies include a 24/7 legal advice helpline and online training to support employers in their role.

We recommend all employers choose a policy that includes this and encourage them to take advice when needed.

Contracts:

For each person that is employed there must be an agreement, also called a ‘contract of employment’, between the employer and employee so you are both clear about each other’s responsibilities.

A contract is a legal requirement and a condition of your Direct Payment Agreement.

There are organisations that can help. See below link for extra advice on being an employer.

Careskills Academy is a leading Skills for Care endorsed eLearning provider.

Their online training is FREE for employed PAs.

You can choose from over 80 virtual CPD accredited social care courses.
