In this edition we are delighted to share with you the launch of the Shropshire SEND strategy. The refreshed 5-year strategy for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) aims to eradicate inequality and realise the collective aspiration of the Shropshire SEND community to live a life that others have come expect. We want…
‘"Shropshire children and young people with SEND to be healthy, happy and safe, and able to achieve their potential to lead a fulfilling life. We want them to have, and to expect, the same opportunities in life as other children and young people.’’

Having gathered the views of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN), parent carers and key partners from across Shropshire, including our schools and colleges and health, care and education professionals, a collective vision for SEND in Shropshire has been agreed.
This Strategy outlines the priorities for SEND in Shropshire for the next 5 years. You can read the Strategy on the Local Offer.

PACC have shared their thoughts on the launch of the strategy, reflecting on the journey undertaken by children, young people, parent carers and the wider SEND community in developing the strategy.
They write about how the strategy provides services across education, health and social care with a clear picture of what they should be working towards in terms of outcomes, and it creates a framework by which progress towards these outcomes can be measured. You can read more about this here.
